THE NEW BREED OF FEMININE AND MASCULINE

In 2024, twenty-two years after writing The Little Pink Book of Feminine Leadership in 2006, I realized that there was a new violence being inflicted on women. This new violence against woman was a violence that moved from the back alleys and country roads to classrooms and boardrooms around the world.

I believe that much of this violence stems from what I and others failed to do during the feminist movement of the mid-20th century. The power of the feminist movement, as I experienced it included consciousness-raising with the support from friends, colleagues, books, magazines, support groups, women’s circles, marches, rallies, music, organizations, and legislation.

The men in my life did not have any of this kind of support! Men were being asked, rather forced, to change in response to the arrival of this new “women” in their midst and they had little to help them navigate this change! I saw men in my life grow sad, confused, frustrated and then just plain, angry. We are all seeing the consequences of that anger today.

There is another thought that I have had, . . . there has emerged a new set of feminine qualities . . . the dark feminine. Women who embody the dark feminine are bold, confident, fearless, authentic, powerful, passionate, fierce, sensual, emotional, intuitive, and desirous. By their own admission, they also are manipulative and seductive.

As I think more about these, I am compelled to move beyond both my old model of feminine as described in my first book, The Little Pink Book of Feminine Leadership and this new model of the Dark Feminine Leadership.

Based on my recent life’s experience, I believe that our planet is rapidly giving birth to a totally new breed of feminine and masculine human being . . . the human being who incorporates both divine feminine and the divine masculine leadership qualities.

As I said in The Little Pink Book of Feminine Leadership, “Like the two sides of the Mobius strip, so are the aspects of masculine and feminine leadership qualities. The qualities appear to be opposites. As the Mobius strip teaches us, the qualities of masculine and feminine leadership are subtle variations of one quality. It is not masculine or feminine. It is the balance of differences and, at the same time, the union of separates.“

The new breed of feminine and masculine human being is both nurturing and protective, determined and focused, wise and intuitive, responsible and playful, collaborative and fierce, passionate, bold, authentic, honest, transparent, and fierce.

And, I believe that this new breed of human being will seek to their highest self in service to the highest good every second of every minute of every day or every week of every month of every year for the benefit of all sentient beings.

On October 1, 2024, I will embark on a creating a blob to elaborate on all of these musings. October 1, 2024 is my 72nd birthday. It is the year of the Dragon and I am a Dragon. It is 22 years since I began the journey of The Vagina Monologues. It is the beginning of a new cycle for me on the Gnostic Circle. It occurs in the month of Libra, ruled by Venus representing balance and harmony. In Celtic tradition, it is the month of reflection. And it brings me joy!
